Q: Can I rip just a portion of a DVD, using a start time and an end time ?
A: Yes, use the integral DVD player to do this, full details are in the help file.
Q: Does DVD Ripper Professional work on Vista ?
A: Yes it does and we are full UAC compliant.
Q: Do I need any Video or Audio Codec's to use DVD Ripper Professional ?
A: No. To perform ripping to any of DVD Ripper Professional video formats, such as DivX, H.264, WMV etc, you do not need any external video codec's loaded onto your system. You must ensure whatever you are using to play back your converted files with, has support for the necessary format.
Q: What is a container ?
A: A container is simply the type of file a video codec is contained in. Examples are .AVI .MP4 - Both AVI and MP4 files (or containers) can have MPEG4 video within them.
Q: Does DVD Ripper Professional work on Windows XP64 and Vista 64bit edition ?
A: Yes our software does operate in 64bit operating systems, but it is still a 32bit application.
Q: Can I crop black bars from my DVD video file ?
A: Yes, we have a automated black bars detection wizard within our software.
Q: How can I name my video files with a suitable file name, such as Star Wars.MP4 ?
A: Simply type in the file name you want in the output file column on the main program window, against the title you are ripping.
Q: What type of DVD image files does DVD Ripper Professional support ?
A: Just about all types of DVD image files can be opened by DVD Ripper Professional - ISO, NRG, BIN, IMG to name a few.
Q: After purchasing DVD Ripper Professional, I have lost the main installation file, what can I do ?
A: You can always download the full version of your software from our members area.
Q: Can I convert just VOB files with DVD Ripper Professional ?
A: It depends. If you just have VOB files without any corresponding IFO files, then you cannot use DVD Ripper Pro to convert these file. You would need to use Video Converter Professional. If you have IFO files, then ensure all your IFO, BUP and VOB files are in a folder called VIDEO_TS and open that folder using Open DVD on Hard Drive function.
Q: Can I create iPod and iPhone video files using DVD Ripper Professional ?
A: Yes, DVD Ripper Professional provides a wide range of profiles with the necessary settings for iPod and IPhone video files, as well as profiles for devices such as Archos, XBOX360 and Sony PS3.
